Apparent Adult

About

Apparently, we're the adults now.

At some point, adults are just expected to understand money, cars, home ownership, insurance, maintenance schedules, and a hundred other responsibilities — without anyone ever sitting us down to explain them. School didn't cover most of it. Nobody hands you a manual when you sign a lease, buy a car, or get your first paycheck with real deductions on it.

Apparent Adult exists to close that gap. Not with jargon, not with a sales pitch, and not by pretending every answer is simple — because a lot of this stuff genuinely isn't. Some of it depends on where you live, what you can afford, or decisions only you can make. What we can do is explain the parts that are consistent, show you the math instead of just telling you a rule of thumb, and build tools that do the tedious calculations for you.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Practical explanations written the way we'd explain something to a friend, not the way a textbook or a bank would.
  • Useful, free tools that turn confusing math into a clear number you can actually use.
  • No judgment — everyone starts somewhere, and asking a basic question doesn't make you behind.
  • No pretending every answer is simple. When something depends on your specific situation, we'll tell you that too.

The goal isn't to make every decision for you — it's to help you make better-informed ones, with fewer surprises along the way.
